Arts in the Community

Dungannon History Forum

Dungannon Borough History Forum was formed in 2007 to commemorate a significant era in the areas history, the ‘Flight of the Earls’. Local historical groups throughout the Dungannon borough came together to develop a programme of activities to commemorate 2007 and beyond.
Members continue to meet on a monthly basis on the second Tuesday of each month in Ranfurly House to develop the local heritage scene, share information on local group activities and timetable forum events / talks which all local history groups and individuals are welcome to attend.
These history talks are held on the second Friday of the month in our Square Box auditorium at 7.30pm.

Dungannon Film Club

Dungannon Film Club, formed in June 2013, and adds an extra dimension to our Arts provision with monthly films in the Square Box.
It is a not-for-profit voluntary community organization whose aim is to bring people together in a relaxed and social environment to share great movies, as part of a community cinema which is open to everyone.
The club aspires to curate a wide selection of independent, foreign language and documentary films that do not get a general release in any of the major cinema complexes in Mid-Ulster.

The Film Club was crowned Film Society of the Year at the ‘Cinema For All’ awards in Sheffield in September 2014. The annual awards acknowledge the achievements of independent film societies. DFC brought home the top title for 'Marketing and Publicity' as well as the Community award in addition to the overall title of 'Film Society of the Year'.
As a community organisation they are open to working with other local clubs and organisations.
